This cookies policy explains which cookies and similar technologies dukeoftokyo.com places and how you manage your preferences. For a complete overview of how we process personal data, please see our privacy policy.

Cookies are small text files placed in your browser when you visit a website. Our site also uses local browser storage (sessionStorage) and third-party pixels to provide similar functionality. In this policy we refer to all of these technologies collectively as "cookies".

On your first visit we show a cookie banner where you can choose, per category, which cookies may be placed. Before you give consent our tracking is off by default (Google Consent Mode v2 with ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, functionality_storage and personalization_storage all set to denied). Only after you give consent do we load the corresponding cookies and pixels.

You can review or withdraw your choice at any time via the button in the cookie banner. When you withdraw a category, the corresponding cookies are automatically removed by our cookie library (vanilla-cookieconsent v3).

These cookies and storage keys are required to operate the site, remember your preferences and keep the service secure. They are placed without consent because you cannot complete a reservation without them.

• cc_cookie — stores your cookie choice (first-party, around 6 months).
• NEXT_LOCALE — remembers your language preference (Dutch or English) (first-party, 1 year).
• dot_csrftoken, dot_sessionid, dot_preview_binding — only active in the admin panel (Wagtail) and not present on public pages.
• purchase_tracked_<id> (sessionStorage) — prevents duplicate conversion tracking on the thank-you page, scoped to the browser tab.
• dot_campaign_ctx_v1 (sessionStorage) — stores UTM and ad-click parameters from the URL you used to arrive on the site, so attribution survives the Mollie redirect, scoped to the browser tab.

With your consent we measure anonymised visitor behaviour with Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) to improve parts of the booking flow.

• _ga — anonymised visitor ID (Google, 2 years).
• _ga_<container-id> — links sessions to the same visitor (Google, 2 years).
• _gid — daily visitor ID (Google, 24 hours).
• _gat — throttles requests to Google servers (Google, 1 minute).

If you withdraw consent, these cookies are removed automatically by our cookie library.

With your consent we use Google Ads (Google Ireland Ltd.) to measure advertising effectiveness and — when enabled — to show relevant ads on other websites.

• _gcl_au, _gcl_aw, _gcl_dc — conversion tracking for Google Ads (Google, up to 90 days).
• _fbp, _fbc — Meta Pixel cookies (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., up to 90 days), only placed when Meta Pixel is active.
• YouTube cookies — when you play an embedded YouTube video, YouTube (Google) places its own cookies.

We currently do not set any functional cookies on top of the necessary set. This category remains available for future features such as a saved cart for returning visitors.

When you are redirected to Mollie's hosted checkout, Mollie sets its own cookies on its domain. That falls under the privacy policy of Mollie B.V.

To render web fonts we load stylesheets from Adobe Typekit (use.typekit.net). Adobe receives your IP address and User-Agent in the process but does not set cookies on our pages.

Click the cookie button in the bottom-left corner of any page to review or withdraw your preferences. You can also remove cookies manually through your browser settings; consult your browser's help section for instructions.

When we add or remove cookies or categories we update this policy. For material changes we re-show the cookie banner so you can review your consent.
